Kira Jorgensen of Vista pulled away in the last 100 meters to win the women’s race in the Kinney Western Regional Cross-Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. She covered the 5,000-meter course in 17 minutes 28 seconds.
Francis O’Neill of Escondido was a surprise winner in the boy’s race in 14:56.
