Holland to Seek Extradition of Nazi War Criminal Who Fled to Argentina

THE HAGUE — The Dutch government announced Friday it will ask Argentina to extradite a former Nazi sentenced to death for World War II crimes.
Justice Minister Frits Korthals Altes’ announcement followed disclosures by Haarlems Dagblad newspaper in October that two of its reporters had located Abraham Kipp in Buenos Aires.
Kipp fled to Argentina after the war and became a naturalized citizen in 1953.
In his absence, he was sentenced to death for promoting arrests of dozens of Dutch Jews during the 1940-45 Nazi occupation.
Most of his victims were deported to death camps and never returned.
Holland has asked Argentine police to arrest Kipp and will ask for his extradition, said Korthals Altes.
Since the newspaper report, Kipp reportedly has been in hiding.
