Cash Asmussen, of Laredo, Tex., rode Forest Angel to victory in the first race at Maisons Lafitte in Paris, becoming the first jockey to win 200 races in a single year in France.
Asmussen, 26, is assured of being the winningest rider in France for the third time in 4 years. He was the leading jockey in New York in 1979 and 1980 before he moved to Europe.
