Harvard Streaks Into 2-A Water Polo Final
- Share via
Jed Simon almost single-handedly got Harvard High off to the fast start it had been seeking in its Southern Section 2-A Division semifinal water polo match Friday.
The senior scored twice in the first 4 minutes, 15 seconds, helping the Saracens to an early 3-goal lead en route to a 9-5 win over South Pasadena at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach.
The victory moved top-seeded Harvard (26-3) into the championship game for the second consecutive season. The Saracens, undefeated against 2-A opponents, will face La Serna on Wednesday at Belmont Plaza. Harvard also kept alive its hopes for the first Valley-area water polo title since Crespi took the 2-A crown in 1981.
