Principal Pleads Not Guilty to Drug Count in New York

NEW YORK — Elementary school principal Matthew Barnwell, 55, was released without bail Friday after pleading not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Barnwell, arrested Wednesday for allegedly buying two vials of crack cocaine on a Harlem street corner, is due back in court Nov 22.
