Turning Off ‘Geraldo’

I am in despair after reading of the fracas on Geraldo Rivera’s TV show (“Rivera Nose Broken as ‘Skinheads,’ Rights Activist Brawl on Set,” Part 1, Nov. 4, and “A ‘Righteous’ Battle Royal” by Jay Sharbutt, Nov. 5).
Are TV ratings worth giving an audience to people like the skinheads whose avowed purpose is to glorify racism and bigotry?
How un-American! How vile! I believe in free speech. I also believe in responsible broadcast programming.
