HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL : She Made Her Point When Boys Didn’t

SAN DIEGO — Check the history books after San Diego’s 3-0 victory over visiting St. Augustine Friday. It might be a first.
Mia Labovitz, the only female football player in San Diego County, scored the only points, kicking a 40-yard field goal in the first quarter to lead San Diego (2-6-1, 1-3).
It was the longest field goal of her career and could be the only time a girl has scored all the points in a high school football game.
St. Augustine (2-7, 1-3) is an all-boys’ school.
