Trabuco Hills 35, Laguna Hills 6--Trabuco Hills stayed in Pacific Coast League race by winning before 800 spectators at Mission Viejo High School.
The Mustangs remained 1 game behind league-leading Woodbridge and improved its records to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in league.
Trabuco Hills will meet Woodbridge next week at Irvine High School to decide the league championship.
Friday’s loss was Laguna Hills’ fourth straight in league play. The Hawks are 1-8 for the year.
Mustang quarterback David Lowery passed for 259 yards and 2 touchdowns, completing 16 of 31 passes with two interceptions.
Tim Manning was Lowery’s favorite target. The wide receiver caught 9 passes for 149 yards.
Trabuco Hills’ top ground gainer was running back Blaine Parks, who picked up 85 yards and 2 touchdowns in 4 carries, including a 75-yarder in the third quarter.
