The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. said it...
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. said it was seeking new bids to rescue to large Texas banks--Texas American Bancshares Inc. of Ft. Worth and National Bancshares Corp. of Texas in San Antonio--after a dispute arose with the original successful bidder for them, MEI Diversified Inc. and Bank Shares Inc., both of Minneapolis. The companies are led by Minnesota banker Carl Pohlad, who is also the owner of the Minnesota Twins baseball team and is a part owner of the Minnesota Vikings football team. FDIC did not elaborate on what problems had arisen to derail the plan.
