Cadet Flunk-Out Guilty in 7 Australia Slayings

MELBOURNE, Australia — A failed Australian officer cadet shot seven people dead because his car broke down and a barmaid rebuffed his advances, his lawyer said Friday.
Julian Knight, 20, has pleaded guilty to seven counts of murder and 43 counts of attempted murder over a shooting rampage in Melbourne on Aug. 9.
The judge is expected to sentence Knight this week.
