A 16-year-old Anaheim boy was in stable condition Thursday with a stab wound to his chest suffered in a fight with an older acquaintance, police said.
Brian Lee Howell, 25, of Anaheim was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon in the stabbing of the teen-ager, who was not identified because of his age, Sheriff’s Lt. Robert Rivas said.
The fight occurred about 6:34 p.m. Wednesday when Howell was confronted by two teen-agers while walking in the 10000 block of Rustic Lane, Rivas said.
Howell told police that the teen-agers “threatened him and they started hitting him,” Rivas said.
“(Howell) then pulled a knife and stabbed one of them in the chest. Then he went home and called the sheriff’s office,” Rivas said.
The stabbed teen-ager was taken to Midwood Community Hospital in Stanton.
Rivas said Howell and the teen-agers knew each other.
“It was more of a personal type thing,” Rivas said. “They were upset with him for some reason.”
