O’Connor’s Condition Good Day After Surgery

WASHINGTON — Justice Sandra Day O’Connor remained in good condition Saturday, one day after undergoing breast cancer surgery at Georgetown University Hospital, court spokeswoman Toni House said.
O’Connor, 58, the only woman to serve on the nation’s highest court, said after the operation Friday that she “did not anticipate missing any oral arguments.” The court is in the middle of a two-week recess, and oral arguments are scheduled to resume Oct. 31.
