3 Aftershocks Rattle Area Near Gorman

FRAZIER PARK — Three small aftershocks from a summer earthquake rattled the Tehachapi Mountains northwest of Los Angeles early Wednesday but no damage or injuries were reported, authorities said.
The trio of quakes occurred 11 miles north-northeast of Gorman and were aftershocks of a June 10 temblor of 5.4 magnitude, said Robert Finn, spokesman for Caltech.
The first aftershock hit at 3:50 a.m. and measured 3.6, followed by a 4.1 quake at 6:44 a.m. and a 3.4 quake at 7:04 a.m., Finn said.
The quake was felt as far away as Lancaster, 40 miles southeast.
In the Imperial Valley nearly 250 miles away, a small 3.8 temblor hit at 3:47 p.m. about 35 miles north of Calexico on the Mexico-U.S. border. Local fire and police officials said they were unaware of the quake and received only one call about it.
