Hector Lopez, 1984 Olympic boxing silver medalist, surrendered to police and was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping his former girlfriend.
Lopez, 21, is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail in Glendale city jail, said Glendale Police Department spokesman Sgt. Dean Durand. He was scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon, said Los Angeles Deputy Dist. Atty. John Bernardi.
Glendale police were searching for Lopez since he allegedly forced Norma A. Gomez, 24, at gunpoint from her Glendale home Sunday night. Gomez returned home by taxi Tuesday evening, relatively unharmed, Durand said.
Gomez told police that Lopez was upset that she broke off their relationship and he wanted to talk to her.
