Larouche Charged With Fraud

Political extremist Lyndon Larouche and six associates were indicted today on charges of conspiring to commit mail fraud by lying to borrowers about when and how his organization would repay loans.

Larouche, indicted on 13 counts by a federal grand jury in the Washington suburb of Alexandria, also was accused of cheating the Internal Revenue Service by concealing money spent on his behalf. The indictment charged that Larouche has not filed a federal income tax return since at least 1979. Larouche faces a maximum penalty of 65 years in prison and a fine
