Local News in Brief : Agoura Hills Planning Director Resigns Post
The director of planning and community development in Agoura Hills is leaving his post to take a job in Northern California, city officials announced Tuesday.
Paul A. Williams has been the city’s only planning director since it was incorporated in 1982. He supervised development of the city’s general plan and zoning ordinances, as well as laws covering signs, grading and the preservation of oak trees and hillsides.
Those ordinances and the general plan “attempt to integrate development into the existing environs, instead of modifying the environs to accommodate development,†Williams said.
“The community is going to miss him,†City Manager David N. Carmany said.
A replacement is expected to be named within two to three months, Carmany said.
Williams’ last day is Oct. 21. His new job is as deputy general manager of the Windsor Water District, which is in the Santa Rosa area.
