Teledyne Inc. reported that net income for the third quarter of 1988 was $77.4 million, or $6.74 per share, contrasted with $89.5 million, or $7.66 per share, for last year’s third quarter. Sales increased to $838.7 million for the third quarter of 1988 from $806 million for the 1987 period. Net income for the nine months ended Sept. 30 was $293.6 million, or $25.36 per share.
