CIA Activities in Nicaragua

Why are the Republicans whining and complaining that Wright acted in an unethical manner by telling the public that the CIA was hiring operatives to stir up demonstrations and incite riots inside Nicaragua (Part I, Sept. 23)? Since when is it unethical to tell the truth about Nicaragua? Especially when the information he quoted was from the front-page of a major newspaper and public information.
Is the Reagan Administration suggesting that Speaker Wright or any other congressman not talk about what they read? If the Reagan Administration and Republicans have a complaint, they should complain to UPI and the newspaper for printing the story, not to the person who happens to pick up the newspaper and read about it. What is obvious to me is that Reagan Administration officials are upset now because they know that the public is finally starting to hear the truth about the CIA’s war on Nicaragua, and this is undermining their policy of peace through force.
