Student, 18, Swept Over Falls
CORBIN, Ky. — Rescue workers searched today for a college student who was swept over the 65-foot Cumberland Falls as other students watched in horror, authorities said.
Teresa Dalton, 18, of Princewick, W.Va., slipped and fell while she was wading in shallow water just above the falls, water patrol police said. The powerful current pulled her over the waterfall. David Bryant, a Cumberland College junior, was wading with Dalton and holding her hand when the accident occurred. He also fell but grabbed a rock and kept from going over the falls, he told police.
