Congress Defeats Gun-Control Bill
Your editorial on the gun control bill, “The Public Loses Again” (Sept. 17), listed the various members of the House of Representatives who opposed the waiting period for the purchase of handguns--not normally used for hunting anything except human animals. California, of course, has had a waiting period for the purchase of handguns for many years.
Among the California House delegation was the ever-present Robert K. Dornan. Is this not the same Robert K. Dornan who has often said in the past that he is so strongly opposed to abortion because he is terribly concerned with the taking of innocent human life? Whatever you say, Bob.
