Prima ballerina Karen Kain will celebrate her 20th year at the National Ballet of Canada with a busman’s holiday: She’ll be featured in a gala concert on Nov. 29, the company announced. Kain will be the principal performer in a number of works created for her over the years. She then will be joined by the full company in Act 3 of “The Sleeping Beauty,” with Kain and her longtime partner Frank Augustyn in the lead roles. The gala is a fund-raising event for Kain’s company and will take place at O’Keefe Center in Toronto.
