Chrysler Motors Corp. said it will expand production at its two plants that make the popular Jeep line of sport utility vehicles. Beginning in January, 1989, annual production of Jeeps will increase by 55,000 units. The Toledo, Ohio, Jeep plant, which has current capacity of 220,000 units, will increase its production of Jeep Cherokees, Wagoneers and Comanches by 23,000 units. The Brampton, Ontario, plant will add another 32,000 units to its current production capacity of 50,000 Jeep Wranglers. The Brampton plant will hire another 400 employees, bringing the work force there to about 1,100.
