PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. — Greyhound Corp. said it will add a refurbished cruise ship to the fleet of Premier Cruises Ltd. in the spring to replace a ship being sold to another cruise line.
The company cited heavy demand for Premier’s vacation packages combining cruises to the Bahamas with stays at Walt Disney World as the reason for the move.
Premier acquired the 17,750-ton Sun Princess ship from Princess Cruises of Los Angeles for an undisclosed sum. The ship will replace the Starship Royale, which Premier sold to Dolphin Cruise Lines, said Bruce Nierenberg, a Premier executive. The price of that sale also was not disclosed.
The refurbished Sun Princess will have a capacity of about 1,000 berths.
