TOKYO — Japanese Emperor Hirohito’s fever continued today despite antibiotics prescribed by court physicians, Japanese media reports said. An Imperial Household Agency official declined to confirm the reports, saying only that the 87-year-old emperor’s condition had not changed since Sunday when he had a temperature of around 100 degrees.
Hirohito has been ill in bed since Saturday. He has become increasingly frail since he underwent major intestinal surgery a year ago.
