Hovland, Dodd Win Beach Volleyball Title

SAN DIEGO — Tim Hovland and Mike Dodd defeated Pat Powers and Jon Stevenson, 11-7, Saturday to win the $100,000 Jose Cuervo Gold Crown beach volleyball title.
Hovland, of Playa del Rey, and Dodd, of Manhattan Beach, split a first prize of $50,000. They have earned a record $131,000 this year.
