Prep Football : Leasure and Garrett Lead Valencia Past Sonora, 34-3

Quarterback Tracy Garrett passed for three touchdowns and running back Keef Leasure ran for two as Valencia High School breezed to a 34-3 victory over Sonora in a nonleague game at La Habra High School Friday night.
Leasure started the scoring for Valencia (2-0) with a 14-yard run on the Tigers’ second possession. The run capped a 5-play, 60-yard drive.
Leasure made it 14-0 on the first play of the second quarter with a two-yard run up the middle. The score was set up by Guy Shepard’s 30-yard punt return to the Sonora 17.
Leasure’s ground game opened things up for Garrett, who connected with running back Tony Boone on a nine-yard touchdown pass just before halftime, making the lead, 21-0.
Garrett also connected with Shepard on passes of 40 and 20 yards for touchdowns in the third quarter.
Sonora (0-2) managed only two first downs. The Raiders’ only score was a 39-yard field goal by Scott Szereby in the third quarter.
Leasure finished with 81 yards in 17 carries, and Garrett completed 4 of 10 passes for 76 yards.
