Debate Over the Presidential Debates

What a mealy-mouthed, dishonest editorial “A Sorry Campaign” (Sept. 8) is. You write as though Michael Dukakis and George Bush are equally responsible for the meager debate schedule (two instead of four--and during the Olympic broadcasts yet). C’mon guys, everyone knows who stubbornly refuses to have no more than two debates! It’s Bush, Bush, Bush! Why are you afraid to say so? This is not evenhanded journalism! It’s cowardly and dishonest!
