Man Killed in Robbery Attempt on Playground

A 19-year old man playing basketball on a school playground was fatally shot when he apparently resisted a teen-ager who tried to rob him about 5:30 p.m. Monday, police said.
The victim’s name was not immediately released. He was on the court at Saturn Avenue Elementary School in the Wilshire area when a teen-ager pointed a gun at him and demanded money, police said. The victim apparently approached the teen-ager, who shot him and fled, police said.
