Visitors will be able to know more and do more in New York than many Manhattan natives, thanks to the software in a new computer system to be installed in the Hotel Macklowe in Times Square.
The 52-story, 638-room hotel will have a software-driven computer in each room that will permit instant access to check airline schedules and buy tickets from airlines, theaters, movies, sports events and other activities.
Room rates will start at about $125, according to Kent Swig, vice president of the Macklowe Organization, developer of the project scheduled to open in the fall of 1989.
