A hearing is scheduled Monday in a suit filed against the county’s Local Agency Formation Commission by Laguna Niguel cityhood activists. The suit demands that 1,400 acres of tax-rich coastal land be returned to the proposed city of Laguna Niguel’s sphere of control. In January, LAFCO turned the 1.5-mile strip over to Dana Point for inclusion in its June 7 incorporation election.
