Bart Starr Story Shows Kids Need Freedom
One cannot help be touched and troubled by the Bart Starr story (Aug. 28) regarding the cocaine-related death of his youngest son, Bret.
There is nothing more dangerous these days than trying to force your traditional values and moral judgments onto your children. Because it works on some kids is no guarantee that it will work on all kids.
One’s own example may not be as important as allowing children to be free to be themselves. The truly free child will early on understand the stupidity of trying to escape life.
