NUERBURGRING, West Germany — Otto Rensing of West Germany won the Formula 3 International German Prototype auto race on Sunday, moving up to second place in the overall standings.
Rensing, driving a Reynard-VW, outpaced fellow countryman Joachim Winkelhock, who still leads the standings in points after the ninth race.
It was Rensing’s second win of the season. He forced Winkelhock, also in a Reynard-VW, to settle for second place in Sunday’s race.
Frank Kraemer of West Germany, driving a BSR-VW, took third place.
