Local News in Brief : Yorba Linda : Family YMCA Offers After-School Child Care

The Family YMCA in Yorba Linda is offering after-school child care to residents of Yorba Linda and Placentia.
Children in the program, called the Sunshine Company, will be picked up after school in a YMCA van and taken to either of two state-licensed child-care centers in Yorba Linda--at First Baptist Church of Yorba Linda or Good Shepherd Moravian Church.
There will be at least one staff member supervising every 10 children, according to the YMCA. Activities will include kitchen lessons, field trips, park days, computer instruction, movies, sports, crafts and games.
Programs of two days a week through five days a week are available. Cost of the five-day program for children in grades one through six is $168 per month. Children must be picked up from the centers by 6 p.m.
