Hewlett-Packard OKs New Service Division

PALO ALTO — Hewlett-Packard Co. said it will begin servicing office computer equipment made by manufacturers other than itself.
Palo Alto-based Hewlett-Packard, which makes computers and automated testing equipment, said its new Multivendor Support Organization will be a “one-stop” source for repairs and services for computer workstations, terminals, printers, disk drives and other equipment.
The new division will be based at company headquarters, Hewlett-Packard said.
