Lion Offense Fizzles in 2-0 Soccer Defeat
Loyola Marymount University showed a strong defense but failed to produce an offense in losing its first soccer game of the season, 2-0, to Azusa Pacific on Thursday at Loyola.
The Lions outshot Azusa Pacific, 15-14, but the game was largely a defensive battle and was scoreless at half time. Azusa’s Greg Armbrust broke the shutout midway through the second half, and Simon Perkins added the second goal shortly later. Loyola never mounted a serious threat after the Panthers scored.
The Lions will play an exhibition game at noon Saturday.
