A bomb exploded at a multiracial hotel bar in Windhoek, Namibia, killing two people and injuring 14. The blast at the Continental Hotel came on the day that guerrillas of the South-West Africa People’s Organization said they would begin observing a voluntary cease-fire in Namibia. The truce is part of efforts to find a settlement for Namibia, which is controlled by South Africa, and for Angola to the north. South Africa this week withdrew the last of its troops from Angola, where they have helped Angolan rebels against the government and Cuban troops.
