Maxicare Health Plans has signed a letter of intent to sell its 130,000-member Michigan plan to Henry Ford Health Care Corp. and its affiliate, Health Alliance Plan. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close Sept. 30, were not disclosed. Health Alliance Plan is buying the membership of the unprofitable Michigan plan and its contracts with health-care providers but is not assuming the plan’s assets or liabilities.
