It’s official: Canoga Park computer technician William Rockwood will hit the Hollywood Bowl podium to conduct the Star Spangled Banner next week as a result of winning KFAC-FM’s “Guest Conductor” contest, the station announced Thursday. Rockwood, who beat out 150 challengers at Sunday’s final round, will also receive four box seats to the rest of the Bowl concert Sept. 6 and dinner at Spago. Rockwood particularly excelled in the accuracy and showmanship categories, the station said. But then, even the unchosen contestants received a souvenir baton for participating in the contest.
