Monument for Los Angeles
Mayor Tom Bradley still has his priorities upside down. He appointed his blue ribbon group to create a $40-million “welcoming symbol” over the freeway.
Regardless of the source of this $40 million, why aren’t the funds more sensibly allocated to the solution of inadequate sewers, the problem of the homeless, pot-holed city streets and a multitude of problems at the crisis stage in Los Angeles?
Who needs a multimillion-dollar monument of welcome to a city already burdened with the perplexities of overpopulation and a city government that does not respond to the basic needs of the area?
