Miles Ruled Ineligible at Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. — David Miles, who played basketball last season at Orange Coast College, did not meet admission requirements at Arizona State and will not be eligible this season, Coach Steve Patterson said Thursday.
Miles, a 6-foot-6-inch forward, needed to earn an associate’s degree to transfer, but did not get the necessary grades during summer school, Patterson said.
Miles averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds last season at Orange Coast and had one year of eligibility remaining at the NCAA Division I level because he began college in 1984.
However, Patterson said Miles will have two years of eligibility remaining on the Division II level and probably will play at a Division II school this season.
