Pop’s hottest new a capella group is Take 6. And who’s their biggest fan? Stevie Wonder, who’s playing the group’s new single, “Spread Love,” on his answering machine. . . . Getting back to Eric Clapton for a moment, when he arrives at Irvine Meadows Sept. 23 to conclude a 15-city American tour, his band will include fellow guitarist Mark Knopfler. . . . Elvis Fever continues: KRLA-AM is offering $1 million to anyone who can bring the King to Ed Debevic’s Diner at noon this Tuesday--the station will also be playing only Elvis music that day. Let’s just hope Elvis doesn’t get trampled in the crush of TV news hounds there to cover his re-appearance (isn’t it too bad that Andy Kaufman isn’t around to enjoy this?). . . . And Southside Johnny has surfaced again, this time signed to Cypress Records.
