Ready for a shaggy-dog story?
John Wayne Airport has finally found MacArthur.
The airport recently adopted a puppy mascot, MacArthur, who will make appearances as part of the Airport Improvement Project’s public information program.
The shaggy white pup will represent the John Wayne Airport Improvement Project at airport events. A cartoon likeness--developed as part of the airport’s community relations program--will appear on airport signs, flyers and ads to tell the public about construction progress as the new terminal and parking structures are built.
The first parking garage is scheduled to open in February. Plans call for the terminal to be completed in April, 1990.
The search for MacArthur had been on since January.
