Chicago-based Sears, Roebuck & Co. has announced that its president, Richard M. Jones, plans to retire at year-end. Jones, a 38-year company employee who became president in 1986, will be 62 when he retires. Chairman and Chief Executive Edward A. Brennan, will assume the president’s title at that time.
