A 44-year-old Glendale man was arrested Monday in connection with the rape and slaying of a Pacoima teen-ager, Los Angeles police said.
Charles Kenneth Anderson was arrested at his Glendale residence on suspicion of killing 16-year-old Suzanne Cecilia Thomas, whose body was found by a hiker in the Hollywood Hills July 22, Detective Russell Kuster said. Thomas’ throat had been cut, and she had been beaten and raped, Kuster said.
Anderson was charged Wednesday with one count of murder under special circumstances, rape and other sex offenses, said Detective Dennis Kilcoyne.
If convicted, Anderson could face the death penalty. He is being held without bail at the Los Angeles County Jail.
