Public TV’s “MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour” said Wednesday three underwriters have agreed to provide it with a total of $57 million in funding over the next five years. The largest amount--$36 million--is from AT&T;, which had been the program’s sole underwriter since it began and has given it $53 million so far. The two new underwriters are Pepsico ($15 million) and the John D. and Catherine MacArthur Foundation ($6 million).
