On Dangerous Ground (Arts & Entertainment Monday at 1 a.m.): Nicholas Ray’s great 1951 B-movie, in which a sadistic city cop (Robert Ryan) is drawn to a blind woman (Ida Lupino), whom he meets while pursuing her brother (a psychotic, uncontrollable killer) through a snowy, nightmarish countryside. Sanjuro (Bravo Monday at 9): Akira Kurosawa’s puckish sequel to “Yojimbo”--with Toshiro Mifune repeating his famous role as a wily, cynical, masterless samurai who likes to trigger off minor civil wars. (1:38)

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (Z Tuesday at 7): The whimsical affair of a New England widow and a spectral sea captain. A lovely little romance, directed by Joseph Mankiewicz in 1947, with another Herrmann score that snaps your heart like a twig. (1:44)

The 47 Ronin, Parts 1 & 2 (Bravo Wednesday at 5, 7, 9, 11 p.m.): Kenji Mizoguchi’s 1941-42 version of an often-filmed Japanese historical legend (sometimes called “Chushingura”)--about a band of samurai and their deadly, determined pursuit of vengeance for their murdered master. A seldom-screened work by one of the geniuses of Japanese film.
