Katella Girls Advance in Basketball Play

Katella High School defeated Burbank Bellarmine-Jefferson, 39-24, Saturday to advance to today’s second round of the 24-team Bell-Jeff Summer Hoop Finale girls’ basketball tournament in Burbank.
Joni Easterly led Katella with 19 points.
Fifth-seeded Brea-Olinda, which had a first-round bye, will meet St. Mary’s today, and Katella will face Lynwood.
