Evelyn De Wolfe’s Hind Site (July 17) about Grand Central Air Terminal brought back memories. In early April of 1941, on arrival from a coal mining town in Kentucky, I entered Curtis-Wright Technical Institute, which occupied a portion of the terminal.
That year of education led to steady employment at Bell Aircraft (1942-45) and Rockwell International (nee North American Aviation, 1945-88) and retirement to one of the world’s greatest places to live--the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
It’s good to learn that the old terminal is being cared for.
