A Lesson or Two on the Justice System
You recently reported a case in which an illegal alien stole a truck and while attempting to elude police hit another vehicle and killed its occupants.
As I understand the case, if the criminal charge can be reduced from second-degree murder to manslaughter, the families of the victims of the accident will be allowed to sue the truck owner to recover damages.
I tried to relate this to my own situation. If someone stole my car from my enclosed garage, used it to kill the occupants of another vehicle, presumably I could be sued and lose everything I have accumulated over a lifetime of hard work and obeying laws.
Will someone please cite the laws that deem this to be justice?
