Fan Has Many Fond Memories of Knox
I grew up on Santa Monica High School football during the 1930s, watching players like George Sims, Pete Breceda, Don Grant and Bill Bundy.
When Ronnie Knox (Bob Oates, July 17) came along, the union between him and Coach Jim Sutherland must have been made in heaven. Sutherland was almost without parallel as a coach, and Knox, with his great ability and poise, was easily the best high school player I ever saw. Years later, John Elway was made from the same mold. I wish good luck to Ronnie Knox. I remember him well.
